Week 8!!

Week 8?!?! Really?!?! Where did all the time go!
Well here we are ladies! The last week of the challenge! Let's step it up a notch and go out with a bang!
Fitness Challenge-
Part 1 - 1 Point for ever minute of medium - high intensity excersise Part 2 - 1 point for ever minute of stretchingPart 3 - 1 point for ever minute of strenth training
Lifestyle Challenge-
Part 1 - 25 points for tracking each dayPart 2- 1 point for each glass (8oz) of waterpart 3- 1000 points for doing something nice for yourself for a finishing a great challenge

Week 5 - Results!!

Woo!

K I think these results are accurate! Lets see how it goes!!

There was some fierce competition this week ladies! Everyone was chompin at the bit and all the teams were really close in all the challenges.

The biggest loser this week was Quasars!!! They lost 13.1lbs (another .41% lost)! Good work ladies

2nd place - Lean Lightening (.39%)
3rd place - Northern Lites (.38%)

NOw that's close!!!

Our Lifestyle award goes to the Northern Lites! Way to say no to snacks! (49.33 points)

2nd place - Lean Lightening (44.60)
3rd place - Quasars (42.5)


The Fitness challenge winners are the Lean LIghtenings!!! With a whopping average of 3055 stairs climbed! Well done ladies!!

2nd place - Quasars (1803 average)
3rd place - Northern Lites (1597 average)


The AP Challenge was dominated by the Northern Lites who averages 290 mins of activity!

2nd place - Lean Lightening (259 average)
3rd place - Quasars (248 average)


And last but not least OP!!! Congradulations Lean Lightenings for being OP on average 4.9 days a week!!!!!

Seems like some of us need a kick in the butt after last week! Let's step up to the plate ladies and rock this challenge this week.

Congradulations to the NORTHERN LITES! Not only were they the biggest losers (17.2 lbs down, 0.35%) this week, they also had the most people on their team loose weight (average of 8pts a person)! Also, they were the only team to have a group loss this week! Way to push through ladies and come back after last week!! !Congrats!!

2nd place - Quasars (up 1.2lbs, -0.06%)
3rd place - Lean Lightening (up 6.3lbs, 0.96%)


The life style award goes to the Northern Lites!!! They got those oils in on average 5.8 of out 7 days. Just goes to show that getting those oils in does aid with weight loss!!! Congradulations ladies!

3rd place - Quasars (4.29 average)

The Fitness challenge award goes to the Lean Lightenings who pushed up over 712 times each this week!

2nd place - Quasars (247 average)

The Activity burner award goes to the Northern Lites who moved their bodies for an average of 308 mins this week.

Week 3 - Results!!!

COngradulations on another week well done ladies! Everyone stepped up to the plate and we have some pretty impressive results for you!


This week's biggest loser is the Quasars!!! They lost another 10.2lbs this week, for a total of 1.78% (46lbs) lost of their starting weight

2nd place - lean lightening - 9.5 lbs, 1.43% total loss
3rd place - Northern lites - up 2.5, 0.8% total loss

THe group who had the most people loose or maintain weight is The Quasars!! With an average of 8.57 points per person (10 pts for a loss, 5 pts for maintaining, 0 for a gain)

2nd place - Lean Lightening - 6.94 pt average
3rd place - Northern Lites - 4.06 pt average



THe winner of this weeks Lifestyle challenge is the Quasars! Everyone in their group got in all their dairy 5.43 out of 7 days.

2nd place - Lean Lightening - 5.28 average
3rd place - Northern lites - 5.13 avaerage


The team with legs and a butt of steal this week is the Quasars!!! They did an average of 1166.93 squarts or leg lifts this week! Good work ladies!! Another special kudos to Heidi who did over 4000 this week!

The most active team this week was the Northern Lites! Rackin in an average of 309.63 mins of activity per person this week!

Week 4 - Challenge!

Alright!

This is the half way mark ladies! it's hump week!!! Let's kick our butts up on over it.


Fitness Challenge


Well we've worked our abs, and our legs... now on to our arms

1 pt/modified push up (girl, wall, whatever)
2 pts/regular military style push up

Life Style Challenge

OILS!!

It's sooo important to get our oils in. I'm hoping I can convince at least one person this challenge that it's a must to get in our oils while loosing weight!

Your skin will be better, your hair will be shinnier, you'll be more regular (you know what I mean). Also, GALL BLADDERS!!!!! I know of 3 people off the top of my head who have had gall stones or had to get their gall bladders removed due to losing weight and not getting their oils in (2 of these being WW ladies in their late 20's!). Our bodies are machines... think about what would happen if we didn't put oil in to our cars!! Okay... i'm done ranting...

Week 2 - Results!!!

Alright ladies! We made it through the second week! It's always the motivation struggle the second week for most people and here we are with firmer abs and healthier bodies!!!

As a challenge this week we lost 15.9lbs! That means soo many people maintained last week! Great work ladies! We had such big losses last week that our bodies are just on hold, keep it up and those scales will move again!

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE!

CONGRADULATIONS TO LEAN LIGHTENING, with a loss of 15.4 lbs (0.77% of total group weight)
2nd place - Quasars, with a loss of 0.4 lbs (0.03% of total group weight)
3rd place - Northern Lites, with a loss of 0.1 lbs (0.01% of total group weight)

CONGRADULATIONS TO THE QUASARS, for having the most members in their team loose weight or maintain (7.33/10).

2nd place - Lean Lightening (7.25/10)

Congradulations on getting through the first week ladies! We all have alot to be proud of. As an entire challenge we lost 98 lbs!!!!!

The results are based on a per capita loss, the groups do not have an equal number of people, so I've divide the total by the number of people in the group to get an accurate measure of success!

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE!

CONGRADULATIONS TO THE QUASARS, with a loss of 40.9 lbs (2.73% of total group weight)
2nd place - Northern Lites, with a loss of 28.4 lbs (1.67% of total group weight)
3rd place - Lean Lightning, with a loss of 28.7 lbs (1.44% of total group weight)

CONGRADULATIONS TO THE NORTHERN LITES, for having the most members in their team loose weight or maintain (9.41/10).

Crunches




1) Lie on your back with your hands crossed across your chest or with your fingers on the sides of your head.



2) Place your feet on the floor with legs bent.



3) To begin the exercise, lift your torso, lifting shoulder blades off the floor and crunching your rib cage towards your lower belly. Hold for two counts, then lower slowly to the starting position. Repeat.










Reverse Crunches






1) Lie on your back with knees bent, feet a few inches off the floor.



2) Slowly contract the abdominals, focusing on rotating the pelvis up and bringing your knees towards your rib cage. Concentrate on letting your abs do the work. Hold at the top then slowly lower your knees to the starting position.



3) Repeat.

























Oblique Crossover Crunches






1) Lie on your back with knees bent, hands behind your head.



2) Keeping lower back pressed into the floor, lift your shoulder blades off the floor and then curl your upper body diagonally across your body towards your right knee.



3) Contract your abs and obliques as hard as you can at the top of the movement. Lower back down



4) Repeat on the same side before switching sides.

Alright everyone, now that we've warmed up our bodies and walked about a bit, lets tone these fighting machines!!!

This should be a straight forward one.

Health and Wellness Challenge -





This week's challenge is FRUITS AND VEGETABLES!!!!





1 point per fruit or vegetable serving.





Get them in to you ladies... especially at this time of the year. Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!








Also remember the AP and the OP challenges are on going throughout the entire challenge. So don't stop moving and count those bites!!

Rules and Regulations!

1) Challenge runs from January 27th to March 23rd (8 weeks!)

2) WI day is TUESDAY! Every TUESDAY there will be a WI thread for you to post your weight and your challenge points. Try and keep this seperate from your daily thread to make it easier on your leaders.

3) If you feel something is too challenging or not challenging enough, please let me know and I will make modifications. We're here to encourage eachother, not to get injured or discouraged

4) Each week there is a lifestyle challenge and a fitness challenge. I will post each weeks challenges on the WW website on Monday nights. Tune into the website I have created for more details on the challenges.

There are 4 numbers to report each week:
1) Lifestyle Challenge
2) Fitness Challenge
3) AP's for the week (in minutes)
this will overlap with the fitness challenge, so don't forget to count all your points
4) OP - we'll leave the activity part out of this since we've already address it in other challenges. In an effort to keep this simple do we want to give ONE point for each day if you follow all of these guidelines:
a) use their daily points
b) don't go over their FP
c) Eat their F&V
d) Oils
e) Water
f) milk

5) This is a team effort. Please support your team with making sure you WI with them each week. If you don't WI for two consecutive weeks you will unfortunately be removed from the team.

6) Encourage new people to join! Let me know if there are new people that want to join! I'll do my best to get them on your team, but I need to try and keep the numbers even!

Week 1 - Challenge

Life Style Challenge -


"You ain't gonna miss your water until your well runs dry” - Bob Marley

So lets run our well dry ladies!! This weeks challenge is to get in as much water as possible. I know the new program allows us to count all liquids. The rule for this challenge is you can count up to 6 glasses (250ml x 6) a day of a liquid other than water. But if you want to get those points up anything more than 6 glasses has to be water...

For example :

Monday -

1 glass of orange juice
2 glasses of diet coke
1 cup of black coffee
1 cup of tea
1 glass milk
6 glasses of water



So this person would get 12 challenge points today. They have 6 points of their other liquids points and 6 water points.



Remember the maximum amount of points a day you can get for liquids other than water is 6.

The amount of points a day you get for water is unlimited!









Fitness Challenge -

Pull out your week 2 and "Start moving more"! For those online members who don't have the meeting stuff, as your fellow teammates for more info on the walking plans.



This week we're going to get 1 point for each minute we walk. It's time to start getting rid of those Christmas pounds!! :)

1) You have to go for a walk - walking to the car or around the house or in the office doesn't count

2) If you jog/run you get 2 pts/minute

3) You can use the Walk away the Pound videos or any other equivalent

4) Walking on the spot while watching tv counts!
